Winter Lawn Treatment Moss control - a key element of our Essential Annual Lawn Treatment Programme

Low  temperature and high rainfall are the friend of moss and sadly the enemy of lawn grasses.

Unfortunately, the climate in the Westcountry is ideally suited to moss growth in lawns.  By late autumn and early winter moss is once again regaining a foothold in our lawns.  Without treatment moss growth in winter means our lawns take two steps beck before the warmer temperatures and the start of the grass growing season.  This is why moss treatment at this time of the year is part of a professional lawn treatment programme.

Our specialist annual winter moss control stops it in its tracks and from thriving.  This gives the lawn grasses more of the available space, oxygen and nutrients to come through the winter in good health ready for spring growth.

This treatment also hardens off the grass helping to withstand winter conditions again helping the lawn get through winter in the best shape for spring.  Lawn sand was a traditional method of controlling moss but a liquid treatment is now sprayed onto the turf.

Ready for when the ground starts to warm up our feed treatment starts to release the right balance of nutrients over the next 10-12 weeks giving your lawn the perfect colour, thickness and appearance.  We also advise our customers on the benefits of aeration at this stage in the year.

Our summer feed encourages just the right amount of growth to give your lawn the look you want without excessive mowing.  This formulation has a timed release which  ensures the lawn is getting the nutrients it needs during a period of increased use.

An important treatment period often neglected in UK lawns.  We keep your lawn in top condition with a top-up in nutrients.  Soil quality must be maintained so we include a mix of microelements to improve the condition of your soil in August and early September.

As temperatures begin to cool down in the autumn our feed treatment applies just the right nutrients to strengthen the lawns root system and continues to provide the deep colour and strength of the grass which extends your season on the lawn as long as possible
