Lawn renovations with scarifying

Where lawns are scarified they do take quite a long time to recover – anywhere from between 4 and 12 weeks.

Watering after renovation.  If we renovate in the spring we tend to recommend watering but in the autumn it is less likely to be necessary.  It is important to be consistent – if you start you must continue to keep the soil moist or germinating seeds will quickly die if they dry out.

My lawn is still patchy after your renovation a few weeks ago?

It can take a few weeks to recover and it will not necessarily be even to start with.  As it recovers though the patchiness will disappear as the lawn thickens up.  The next time we visit on a regular treatment rest assured we will reseed any areas that need it.

How soon after renovation shall I start mowing again?

Leave it until the most of any new grass is about 3 inches long then start mowing on the highest setting to begin with.

You renovated my lawn and now weeds are appearing?

When the soil is disturbed this is normal.  Some new weeds will germinate.  Please leave them for us to deal with when we next treat your lawn.  Don’t be tempted to treat them yourself as new grass can be damaged by herbicides.
